“BE” (2004, CD, signed)

13.00

In 2003, Pain of Salvation went out on their weirdest tour ever. They played five days a week, double features on weekends, with a nine piece orchestra. Every show was played in their home town, and people came from all corners of the world to see it. The stage featured (apart from the usual what-have-yous) one grand piano, one cembalo, one hanging bass drum, three kits of percussion and… one pool. The entire work was written as score music in detail by Daniel Gildenlöw for this very specific instrumentation, and included a large number of voice messages to God collected from the whole world on an answering machine. From the hundreds and hundreds of recorded messages, some handfuls were selected and can be heard on the album.

Product Description

Every show was played in their home town, and people came from all corners of the world to see it. The stage was built in layers and was deeper than it was wide, and it featured (apart from the usual what-have-yous) one grand piano, one cembalo, one hanging bass drum, three kits of percussion and… one pool. The entire work was written as score music in detail by Daniel Gildenlöw for this very specific instrumentation, and included a large number of voice messages to God collected from the whole world on an answering machine.
